Congratulations Ola Roald!

We’d like to extend our congratulations to Ola Roald Architects for winning the Bardu architecture competition in Northern Norway.

The competition covers a 220,000 m2 area containing three new schools, sports facilities including a football ground, sports arena and ski tracks.

Ola Roald’s design was based around the Norwegian concept of a central meeting square - named a Tun. The Tun is the centre of the design, a public external space for assembly and communication with the other buildings built around it.

Ola Roald Artwork

Sanders Shiers was pleased to assist Ola Roald in producing visuals for their proposal. See the original artwork here.

We’ve recently been working on a few advertising projects alongside our architectural work.

We can’t reveal the clients yet, but the images speak for themselves in terms of visual quality - all are a variation on CGI/3D/Post-production/Matte Painting.

Also included are the two of our previous ‘non-architectural’ images that we’ve completed in the past - the Vaccum mouse for DDB and Philips, and also the Coliseum ad which we used in Creative Review.

We’re looking forward to picking up some more ad work in the near future!

We’ve been published in an international book of fine visualisations - Ispirato.

The book is Volume 1 of a new series, published by 3DATS - aimed at showcasing some of the best visualisation studios and artists around the world.

The projects which are featured in the book are the award winning Oslo Apartments and the more recent image for Trescobeas Road.

We’re proud to be able to show off the latest of our animations - Bow Bridge.

We produced this short animation for UK based architects, Spratley Studios. It was created to help promote their design proposal for the new Oxford Brookes boat house and training centre at Bow Bridge, Oxford.

The refurbished boat house will be used as a training ground for some of the UK’s top athletes in preparation for the 2012 Olympics, including Oxford rowing teams.

DDB Philips Mouse @ Creative Circle Awards

We found out this morning that the Philips Mouse advert which we worked on for DDB picked up a Commendation at the Creative Circle awards last night for Best Magazine Advert.

We look forward to seeing the ad in the Creative Circle Book 2010.

Congratulations to all the team at DDB!

Design Week Hot 50 advert - close up

Design Week Hot 50 Ad

For those of you who havent got Design Week this week, we’re featured on page 8 of the Hot 50 supplement.

The ad shows one of the latest artworks from the Hudson Valley House, architecture courtesy of Turkel Design and Lindal Cedar Homes.

To see a close crop of the artwork on the blog click here, and to see the artwork in full on our website click here (and on the homepage too).

Not only are we pleased to be shown in the Hot 50 supplement (albeit in an advert), we’re also on a page facing one of the most recognisable pieces of graphic design of 2009 - the Hope poster featuring Barack Obama by Shepard Fairey.

Yes we can!

We’re excited to showcase the first of a number of projects which we’ve completed across the pond in the USA, for architects Turkel Design.

Hudson House is situated in Hudson, New York - approx 120 miles north of New York City.

Turkel Design is only a small architectural practice, but has designed houses for Dwell Magazine, as well as numerous private residences across the US. In 2009, Turkel was featured in Time Magazines Green Design Top 100 - see here.

Watch this space as we have a number of other projects from Turkel to unveil in the near future.
